Lake City, Lahore

Lake City is a privately developed gated housing society on Raiwind Road in south-west Lahore, planned around a golf course and a lake and divided into lettered M sectors and a Golf Estate. It is one of the more established of the Raiwind Road societies, with built-up residential sectors, a commercial centre and its own schools and mosque.

What is Lake City like?

Planned, green and quieter than Bahria Town next door. The sectors are named M-1 to M-7, each with a different plot size and stage of development, and the Golf Estate holds the larger plots along the course. The earlier sectors are built up and lived in, the later ones are still filling, and the commercial centre and the lake sit roughly in the middle. It feels like a suburb rather than a town, which is the point.

Who is it for?

Families who want a gated society with a golf course, parks and schools, and who do not mind being on the city's south-west edge; and investors who buy plots in the newer sectors. Plot sizes range from compact to kanal-plus in the Golf Estate, so the society serves both the first-time buyer and the buyer who wants a large house with a view of the fairway.

What is nearby?

Raiwind Road is the spine: Bahria Town, Etihad Town and the other societies along it are minutes apart, Lahore Ring Road's southern loop connects it to the rest of the city, and Thokar Niaz Baig and Multan Road are the usual route into town. Inside, the commercial area covers daily needs; for hospitals and the larger shopping centres you drive to Johar Town or beyond.

What should I check before buying in Lake City?

The allotment or transfer record at the society office in the seller's name, a dues clearance from the management, and the plot's physical position against the sector map. Confirm which sector the plot is in and its stage of development, because the society's name covers very different conditions on the ground. For a built house, ask for the society-approved plan.

Questions about Lake City

Which Lake City sector is the most developed?

The earlier M sectors are built up and lived in, with the commercial centre nearby; the later sectors are still filling with construction. The Golf Estate holds the largest plots along the course. Ask which sector a plot is in and go and see the street, because the society name covers several stages at once.

Is Lake City better than Bahria Town?

Different rather than better. Lake City is quieter, greener and golf-led; Bahria Town is bigger, busier and has more amenities inside the gate. They are neighbours on Raiwind Road, so most buyers see both and decide on atmosphere and the specific plot.

How far is Lake City from the centre of Lahore?

It is on the south-west edge, on Raiwind Road. Via the Ring Road it connects to DHA and the airport side; via Thokar Niaz Baig and Multan Road to Johar Town and the centre. The commute into Gulberg is a real daily consideration, and most residents work or school on this side of the city.

Are there schools inside Lake City?

Yes, the society has its own schools and mosque, and the commercial centre covers daily shopping. For hospitals and the larger shopping centres, Johar Town and the Multan Road side are the nearest.

What documents do I need to buy a plot in Lake City?

The allotment or transfer letter in the seller's name verified at the society office, a dues clearance from the management, and the plot's position confirmed against the sector map. A built house also needs the society-approved building plan.
